Can you see the roasted bird? Guess what, it is not a roasted bird, in fact, it is a live bird soaked in the oil slick in the gulf of Mexico. In the first 2days after the rupture of the pipe, BP cads claimed it wasn't oozing out much oil to have an environmental devastation. Unfortunately, today 210,000 gallons of oil spill out a day, 5 times more than it was initially reported. Yes, the corollaries are high and even surpass what we can imagine. Despite being a limited resource that has taken our soldiers to fight unbearable war in the middle east, we cannot give a blind sight to the ramification this will effect on our environment let alone our fragile economy. According to a report from CNN, 20% of US seafood is from this region. BP has said they are going to pay the damage, can they cover the ripple cost this negligence will inflict in this brittle economy? Yes, they can give stipend to the people directly affected in that defined arena...what about someone residing in Chicago who was able to ingest some omega 3 acid at least once a week, but could no longer afford it because supply has plummeted in relation to demand hence skyrocketed the price. What about the loss in sales tax the government capped on every item sold? What about the fish trader who buys from the gulf coast to sell in other part of the country? The economic effect is endless. If we turn a page to the environmental consequences which are also burgeons and ask BP to compensate accordingly, i suppose they will go bust and still not able to comply. Sometimes i begin to wonder if some of these companies have voodoos because i can't imagine that BP was in the top 3 finalists for the award for pollution prevention that was suppose to be announced on Monday in Texas but has been postponed because of this catastrophe. My gut is telling me that, BP was the selected winner, WHAT A SHAME to the committee!
Thanks for reading my blog...hope u comeback for more awakening stories
