Read if you think it is a lie

One day all the organs of the body were having a meeting, trying to decide who was the one in charge.
"I should be in charge", said the brain, "because I run all the body's systems, so without me nothing would happen."
"I should be in charge," said the blood, "because I circulate oxygen all over so without me you'd all waste away."
"I should be in charge," said the stomach, "because I process food and give all of you energy."
"I should be in charge," said the legs, "because I carry the body wherever it needs to go."
"I should be in charge," said the eyes, "because I allow the body to see where it goes."
"I should be in charge,' said the rectum, "because I'm responsible for waste removal."
All the other body parts laughed at the rectum and insulted him, so in a huff, he shut down tight.

Within a few days, the brain had a terrible headache, the stomach was bloated, the legs got wobbly, the eyes got watery, and the blood was intoxicated. They all decided that the rectum should be the boss.

What is the morale of the story...can you guess before reading the next line?

As a boss, never minimize the contribution made by any of your subordinate, because even the least rank employee such as the office cleaner is capable of jeopardizing your effectiveness at the office

model for crime mitigation

What do you think the crime rate in US is? Where do you think US stands in relation to crime rate with other developed countries and the world at large. It is a stunning reality that our founding fathers wherever they are, will be nodding their heads in disagreement for the spontaneous rise in crime rate. Despite the crimes in the various countries in the world, there wasn't any formal recording crime statistics. The first systematic collection of national judicial statistics on persecution and conviction was done by France in the year 1825, and later the US and other nations follow suit, as reported in www.law.jrank.org.
According to the statistics listed in wiki, US is ranked 48 in crime (it is computed as the number of victims in every 100,000 people) in the world and number one among its fellow developed nations. What stunned me is that while US is ranked 48th, China which has 5 times the population of US is ranked 75th and India which is 4 times US is 67th. Yes, i know there are some discrepancy in the recording and reporting of data between US, a democratic country and China, a Communist state, as it's evident, China will always filter the amount of information to be make public. That notwithstanding, if you take a look to analyze the model applied by US to curb crime wave is by far less effective compared to an ideal model implemented in a country like Norway. Take for example, the recent Norwegian $252 million Halden Fengsen prison reported in Time magazine, May edition, an incarceration facility which has been built with the goal to develop the knowledge of inmates by teaching them trade skills so that when they leave the prison they can easily integrate into the society. Unlike the Norwegian model, the US model is to give prisoners the worse nightmare there can ever be. This model of treating prisoners inhumanely has not worked, and will never work. In fact, from the same Time Magazine citation, 20% of Norwegian convicts end up back in jail within 2 years of their release, while in the same time stretched 60% of US convicts end up back in jail. Now, judge for yourself, which model is better? As statistics has shown, most convicts are the least educated in the society coming from poor homes. It is obvious that the Norwegians have identified the root cause of crimes and have developed a realistic model to tackle the problem. They have noted that providing education and trade skills to inmates will facilitate their integration into the society when they are release, hence plummeting their chances of engaging in criminal activities.
My wish is that US can also copy some of the successful models other countries have implemented in order to make this country a crime free society for all its citizen to live fear free.

Arizona

Yes i'm back again, this time spewing to Arizona, a state that claim they are around the border. Are they the only state to the border of Mexico or they have been the only state hard hit by the chauvinistic Lloyd Blankfein and co. who unscrupulously decided to screw the world. I am totally against this law when it was first signed by the governor because there wasn't any provision to cater for racial profiling, but on Friday when i read about the amendment ratified by the governor to mitigate racial profiling in the ordinance i was somehow relieve though still little skeptical because there will always be some cops rooted to exacerbate this section of the ordinance beyond its jurisdiction. That notwithstanding, i support democracy and people should be allowed to voice their concern without breaching the law, but i was crushed when i read that some critics (including a congressman from Illinois) of the bill yesterday matched and blocked sidewalk outside the white house in D.C., well, i will urge these folks not to alienate the portion of the public that is siding with them through their violence but try to maintain a peaceful protest.

Politics

Did you hear from Mitch McConnell? What is that dude trying to do, weaken consumer protection! He has the guts to rally the republicans to weaken the consumer protection...what! are they working for the wall street or for the main street? And a certain Senator Scott Brown is vowing not to support the bill that it's going to "hurt small businesses". What they are implying is that creating financial stability oversight council will hurt small business. Yes, i acknowledge their fear that too much regulation might turn to hunt the entire system. But notwithstanding, we must also acknowledge that the system has been operating without an oversight council and the wall street proved to the main street that they are not to be trusted an iota, so why should the government still bestow the future of the financial system to unscrupulous individual! For God's sake, once bitten twice shy. This country is not that naive to use a short spoon to eat from the same plate with wall street. Can you imagine! a certain Fabulous Fab help created risky mortgage-backed investments (to read more click here Boston) and sold it to investors when they knew it is bound to fail. What is astonishing is that, they went back and bet against this securities they created that it will fail, so how do they want the public to believe them that they didn't do anything wrong to melt the financial system! So those republicans who are standing aloof or trying to stand against this reform will pay for it with their jobs. American must stand up against cheating, that's why i stand strongly for reform. God bless, there is blogging, so we will make our voice heard whether they like it or not.

God bless you for reading....hope you come back for intriguing news.

ISMT_2010_Atem

Can you see the roasted bird? Guess what, it is not a roasted bird, in fact, it is a live bird soaked in the oil slick in the gulf of Mexico. In the first 2days after the rupture of the pipe, BP cads claimed it wasn't oozing out much oil to have an environmental devastation. Unfortunately, today 210,000 gallons of oil spill out a day, 5 times more than it was initially reported. Yes, the corollaries are high and even surpass what we can imagine. Despite being a limited resource that has taken our soldiers to fight unbearable war in the middle east, we cannot give a blind sight to the ramification this will effect on our environment let alone our fragile economy. According to a report from CNN, 20% of US seafood is from this region. BP has said they are going to pay the damage, can they cover the ripple cost this negligence will inflict in this brittle economy? Yes, they can give stipend to the people directly affected in that defined arena...what about someone residing in Chicago who was able to ingest some omega 3 acid at least once a week, but could no longer afford it because supply has plummeted in relation to demand hence skyrocketed the price. What about the loss in sales tax the government capped on every item sold? What about the fish trader who buys from the gulf coast to sell in other part of the country? The economic effect is endless. If we turn a page to the environmental consequences which are also burgeons and ask BP to compensate accordingly, i suppose they will go bust and still not able to comply. Sometimes i begin to wonder if some of these companies have voodoos because i can't imagine that BP was in the top 3 finalists for the award for pollution prevention that was suppose to be announced on Monday in Texas but has been postponed because of this catastrophe. My gut is telling me that, BP was the selected winner, WHAT A SHAME to the committee!
